- 1 large lemon
- 2 lb. boneless leg of lamb, cut into 2-inch chunks
- salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
- 3 tbs. olive oil
- 1 large yellow onion, chopped
- 3 large garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground coriander
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 3/4 cup coarsely chopped dried apricots or pitted dates, or a mixture
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
