  • 1/4 teaspoon salt**
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup of superfine sugar, or a heaping 1/4 cup white, granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk, divided 3/4 cup (175 ml) plus 1/4 cup (60 ml)
  • 2 generous tablespoons european butter, melted (or 3 tbsp standard butter)
