Ingredients

  • 1 cup short grain rice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can coconut milk (14oz)
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 20 small figs (more if necessary to cover surface of cake, mine were really tiny)
  • 2 teaspoons brown miso paste
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
  • two 4-oz salmon fillets
  • sesame oil
  • 1/2 red bell pepper
  • 1 cup snow peas
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
