Curried Okra With Chickpeas

Ingredients

  • 1 lb okra/lady’s finger/bhindi, sliced into 1″ pieces
  • 3/4 cup cooked chickpeas, drained and patted dry
  • 1 medium onion, chopped into to big chunks
  • 2 cloves of garlic, peeled and sliced
  • green chili pepper, sliced (as many as you want)
  • 2 small tomatoes, grated
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt/ or sour cream
  • 1.5 teaspoons garam masala or store bought curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon, or as per taste red chili powder/or cayenne
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • salt
  • fresh cilantro for garnish
