  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon preserved lemon or 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon zest
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 1/3 cup israeli couscous
  • 1 3/4 cups low-sodium store bought or homemade chicken or beef broth
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh parsley leaves
