  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup milk, room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup water (for “stopping” the caramelization process)
  • 12 tbsps unsalted butter
  • 1 lb. confectioner’s sugar, sifted
  • 4-6 tbsps heavy cream
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 2-4 tbsps caramel syrup
  • kosher or sea salt to taste
